About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists in a newly created role of Automation Technician at our Riverina Plant. The Automation Technician position reports to the Plant Engineer and has responsibility for a range of electrical maintenance and installation projects, as well as general maintenance supervision activities associated with the operations of a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The position is hands on and requires the ability to lead and develop the other maintenance team members.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, Install, test, calibrate, modify and repair electrical equipment and Installations to conform with regulations and safety requirements.
- Undertaking electrical workshop functions such as Installing assemblies for protection relays, metering and Indicating devices.
- Assisting Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists In design and layout of electrical Installations and circuitry on substations switchgear, cabling systems and motor control systems.
- Monitor safe working practices in accordance with the workplace health and safety act and JBS policies and procedures.
Criteria:
- Trade qualification relevant to an electrical based position.
- Strong knowledge of working with Rockwell/ Allen- Bradley PLC systems
- Experience with other PLC systems such as Siemens and Omron
- Experience working with HMI screens, SCADA/HMI Programming and Instrumentation and variable speed drives (VSD's)
- Sound knowledge and application of workplace health and safety regulations
- Ability to contribute to the development of knowledge, skills and abilities of members of Electrical team members.
- Experience as a Supervisor at a meat works or similar industrial environment is desirable but not essential.

Salary: $70,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
