Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Clinical Practice:
- Diligently completes assigned responsibilities, while functioning within established hospital, division and EMS guidelines, standards and directives, under the immediate supervision of the charge paramedic or section-head.
- Accountable for providing high quality patient care, both pre-hospital and in-hospital, based on a competent understanding of the patient needs, within established policies, procedures and protocols.
- Provides attentive patient care in a thorough, efficient and cost effective manner.
- Maintains an awareness of the patient's physical, medical and cultural needs at all times.
- Maintains a working knowledge of current trends in EMS and new developments in the healthcare field.
- Anticipates potential problems and responds to them appropriately.
- Accountable for operating and maintaining EMS vehicles and equipment properly, to avoid damage or breakage.
- Prepare and complete required reports.
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Administration:
- Eagerly exercises detailed attention to duty, while efficiently completing obligatory requirements.
- Ensures EMS vehicles, equipment and supplies are in a constant state of readiness all times.
- Consistently adheres to and implements EMS administrative and medical control directives.
- Willingly completes administrative and clinical functions as assigned by the charge paramedic or section-head.
- Ensures a proper utilization and assignment of staff in duty.
- Actively participates in EMS staff meetings.
- Education & Research:
- Consistently attends skills maintenance programs to ensure professional proficiency.
- Maintains professional licensure and required certifications.
- Participates in the development and presentation of educational awareness programs.
- Attempts to improve communications in English / Arabic.
- Assists in the orientation and professional development of other EMS personnel.
- Attends professional development courses and participates in professional research programs.
- Quality:
- Provides continuous feedback to improve working environment and patient care.
- Continually strives to deliver a higher level of quality care.
- Utilizes medical supplies properly, to avoid wastage.
- Assists in situational problem solving and in the utilization of limited resources and supplies.
- Anticipates ways to assist other staff members, while encouraging a cohesive teamwork approach in the workplace.

- Works in harmonious partnership with members of the EMS team and other health care professionals.
- Promotes a positive attitude within the EMS team while responding to the needs of fellow team members.

- Respect patients and their families to promote a patient-centered care culture.
- Participate in and supports quality improvement and patient safety activities as an individual or as part of a team.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Job Qualifications and Experience
Minimum or Required :
- Bachelor Degree in EMS or in Nursing with EMS certificate. No experience
- Valid SCFHS Certificate
- Courses: BLS / ACLS / PALS / PHTLS
Preferred :
Courses: AMLS Critical care EMT-Paramedic
Valid driver’s License
