If so, we are looking for an experienced Senior Transport Clerc to join us at our site in Widnes, working on behalf of Tesco.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £25,779.87 per annum. You will be working a 4 on 4 off night shift pattern 1900- 0700, 20 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:


  • Your are the senior clerical assistant to the Transport function of the Distribution Centre, reporting to an Assistant Transport Manager.
  • Support the ATM with administration to help them deliver their role.
  • Support the ATM with communication to the Distribution Centre and Stores.
  • Deputise for the ATM in their absence
  • Ensure Risk Assessments are available for all delivery routes and filed away on return to depot.
  • Produce Load Packs as loads are completed by the warehouse including RDR, RA and Collection information.
  • Oversee and direct the clerks on my shift, ensuring the defect, pre brief and de brief process is adhered too
  • Run and distribute the top 10 store turn around report
  • Complete the fuel ulage report
  • Oversee, conduct, and distribute the VOR report for the shift
  • Ensure the defect log is completed accurately
  • Ensure the Driver has completed the Store Delivery Risk Assessment feedback form and escalate issues to the ATM.
  • Liaise with Microlise on all non-tracking assets, logging tickets seeing the repair or fix from end to end.
  • Ensure all good to go assets are back in action by liaising with shunters
  • Support the ATM with the Shunter rota ensuring sufficient cover for current and next shift.
  • Ensure all driver tab defects are reported and fixed in good time
  • Complete customer or XPO KPI’s as required.


Working alongside our planning and transport team members. You will be completing general administration tasks, maintaining files, and helping with our driver queries.


What you need to succeed at XPO:


  • Previous administration experience ideally within a logistics environment
  • A can-do attitude
  • A strong user of Microsoft Office Suite
