We are significantly extending our software engineering presence in Poland across multiple products in Zendesk portfolio (Support, Machine Learning, Explore and others) and we’re looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team.
Zendesk has over 130,000 customers worldwide and each of our products is a large-scale distributed system. Our frontend stack includes modern libraries like React, Redux, GraphQL and extensive tooling like TypeScript and Webpack. We run our services with a mix of Kubernetes and EC2 all running in AWS. Our services use Elasticache,Redis, MySql (Aurora), SQS, Lambda, Kafka, and many other AWS services.
What you’ll be doing?
Write, test, and maintain code used by millions of people worldwide
Continually improve your and your colleagues' code through peer review, pair programming, and knowledge sharing
Ensuring operational excellence (e.g. reliability, security) of the systems you and your team own
Craft and improve documentation for your team and throughout Zendesk
Partner with customer advocates to fix bugs impacting our customers and their end users
Estimate and prioritize work based on trade-offs and collaboration with stakeholders
Enforce engineering best practices when designing, building and maintaining our systems
What would you bring to the team?
Professional experience in JavaScript or similar programming languages
Knowledge of JavaScript libraries e.g. React, Redux, GraphQL or others
At least basic understanding of web application development concepts
Communication skills - you can explain your ideas in a clear way and listen actively to others
Open mind and adaptability - you can deal well with change
