- Solid experience as a people manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in translation, linguistics, marketing, technical communications or related field.
- Software localisation, translation, or writing/editing experience.
- Program management skills.
- Experience driving and documenting new processes and streamlining existing processes.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage an international team of language editors.
- Create and maintain the Editorial roadmap, vision and strategy; including the scope of editorial activities.
- Scale editorial processes and tooling to accommodate language and product expansion.
- Engage with corporate and partner teams across Amazon to understand and address common localisation issues.
- Ensure partner teams adhere to the standards and criteria set by the DS2 team.
- Establish and track quality metrics across translation and editorial efforts.
- Work with content owners to develop scalable localisation processes for their assets.
- Build mechanisms to provide feedback to external vendors, MT and ML teams with respect to localisation quality.
- Evaluate current processes and work with the engineering team to develop tooling to automate and streamline editorial activities.
DS2 Localization is accountable for delivering software and content localisation solutions across Amazon Devices families, including Alexa (voice and GUI), FireTV (devices and TVs), Tablet, Kindle eReader, Ring, eero and others. The team is 40+ strong and consists of program managers, language editors, localisation engineers, SDEs and QA engineers - located predominantly in the US, Canada, Europe and India.

The following are 'nice to have' but are not a hard requirement:
- Experience in a multi-language publishing environment, including internationalisation for localisation, content management systems, translation management tools and systems.
- Strong editorial background and proofreading skills, including experience adhering to technical style guides.
- Experience in development and implementation of new tools/processes.
- Previous experience working in an agile environment.
- Previous experience improving device software customer experience.
